Blog: Hike4Hope

Here we go!

What do you hope to accomplish?

We asked Trey and Maddie what they hope to ignite during their hike4hope!

"Most importantly, we hope to see multiple villages fully funded so they can begin their journey to self-sustaining!  Bringing solutions to water, food, wellness, income and education for all children!

THE BIG REVEAL!

Trey and Maddie Cason are making some major changes in their lives!

Not only are they transitioning from a corporate world to become long term humanitarian aid workers for GHNI, they are taking the rest of 2018 to hike the Appalachian Trail (beginning in June).  This couple has a crazy idea they can help end extreme poverty - life threatening, diseased water drinking, less than $1 a day extreme poverty - by hiking the trail and asking all of us to do two things.....

Why do you want to hike?

We asked our "mystery couple" why they wanted to hike for GHNI and share it with you through social media and a blog.....

"Growing up with families who took us to different state parks to hike and camp cultivated in us an appreciation for the outdoors and a love for nature. As a couple, we have been dreaming about thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail for several years now.  While I officially get to put my record of not showering for six days to the test, My husband is excited to up his facial hair game from Duck Dynasty to full Chewbacca.

Hike4Hope

Have you ever dreamed of hiking the Appalachian Trail?  Part of it?

Coming soon - the Hike for Hope!
Who from GHNI is hiking?!?  Hal and Lana?  Mike and Sheri?  Can you guess?

You can be a part of one couple's journey to hike the 2,190 miles beginning this summer.  How?

1.  You can join them for a portion or hike a portion on your own and send us photos! Maybe raise support from your friends and family in honor of your hike.  Even a 5-mile hike can raise $500 in sponsorships for GHNIs work to bring help and hope.

Moving Through New Jersey

"We celebrated reaching the top of the highest peak in New Jersey with a Pepsi they give you! At the top of the mountain, Jeff, Ken, and the rest of their group were hanging out and playing music all night. They invited us over for food, and then they played some music for us.

Now we're celebrating flat trails! We know they are few and far between."
