The Village

Mudiyambo is a rather unremarkable village at first glance. It is a village that is cured by geography. There is inadequate water to sustain the local population. In this part of the world, as in any other part of the world, water is the key to life.

Without water, one cannot grow food. Not only is water important to people, but animals need water to survive. Without crops or herds, it’s impossible to generate income. Forced to drink out of the same water source as the animals, the lack of pure water dramatically negatively affects the health and wellness of the people of Mudiyambo.

Transformational Community Development©

It is villages like Mudiyambo that emphasis why the five areas of Transformational Community Development (TCD)—water, food, income, wellness, and education–are so interdependent.

Obviously our TCD efforts need to start with water. Our TCD Workers in the region have invested in the journey to make a dramatic impact. The goal has been to first improve their crops, which directly helps them with income generation.

In all of this, we don’t want to forget the children. Education is vital to the future of this village, so plans are being made to help every boy and girl to go to school.
