Special Attention to Children’s Education
August 15, 2022
This quarter, in Binodpur Village, our focus was on education. After a lockdown of two years, the educational opportunities of children were badly affected. Most parents could not teach their children themselves, and not many parents could afford tutoring. That made the scenario worse as children forgot basic lessons. The severity of the situation was understood only when school reopened. Children have forgotten everything, and bringing back normalcy will take a long time. Since Bharat works closely with both the school and parents, they took this seriously and gave special attention to children’s education.
Bharat started a tutoring centre with the help of the villagers and provided tutoring at a very nominal cost. Children are very weak in Maths and English, so Bharat is helping students give special focus to these subjects. Students are now learning spoken English and other subjects as well.
Transformational Community Development (TCD) Update
Education
There is one committee for all areas like water, food, education, and others. Once the number of participants grows, we will make separate committees. School attendance is high. Children get evening classes at home. A tutoring class has started.
Thank you!
