The Clinic and Classes Benefit Many

September 1, 2022

Our clinic received 30 patients recently. Each had different issues: diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, allergies, lack of vitamin D, bronchitis, and anemia.

Fatima is a 60-year-old Jordanian widow and mother of 8 children. She complained of arthritis, and she has had diabetes for 12 years. Five of her children are married, two daughters and one son live with her. Fatima’s financial situation is difficult, but she is trying her best to provide for her family. The doctor and the nurse provided the needed advice and instruction accordingly but also a listening ear and a compassionate approach which is good for her dear soul.

Amira is 42 years old, married, and from Jordan. She and her husband have issues with joints. Amira has pain in her neck, and her husband was in a car accident and had to have surgery on his knees. She and her husband have five daughters and one son. The oldest is 15 years old. The doctor and nurse encourage every patient to engage in healthy eating and regular exercise.

Recently, the students took classes for two weeks, as they had final exams. Their first week’s lesson in the English class was about learning colours, and their second week was learning the days of the week. Students learnt how to say and write the colours and the days of the week. Their teacher prepared fun activities for the students to engage more in the class. They loved the activities and had fun as they were learning!

Computer lessons were about how to cut, copy, and paste and their shortcuts. They were also about using the recycle bin and how to delete and restore. Every student had the chance to put the lesson into practice and application.

In the sewing class, the women learnt how to make a skirt and t-shirt. They also mastered repairing, waist reduction, cutting, assembling pieces of fabric together, and creating other articles of clothing. The attendees also made pillow covers and quilts.

Chadia has started working on her fifth piece of clothing, while Dalila is working on her third piece. Dalila didn’t progress as quickly because her children had finals, and she was helping them in their studies and taking care of her other household responsibilities.

The instructor is pretty happy with the progress of her trainees. New participants are welcome to register and join the workshop!

Thank you!
