town Hallau SH in northern Switzerland. Multilingual, Peter’s mother tongue is German, and he is fluent
in English and French, with basic knowledge of Spanish.

Back in 1999, Peter met GHNI Founder Hal and Lana Jones and at an international gathering in the
Middle East. Hal asked Peter’s advice as to a good location where Europeans and Arabs could meet in
the summer. Peter recommended Geneva, Switzerland, as he had worked there in banking from 1987-
1989 and had experienced many Arabs visiting during the summers, especially for the Fêtes de Genève.
After visiting Geneva and touring the Red Cross Museum, Hal identified Geneva as the headquarters
location for the NGO now known as Global Hope Network International (GHNI). From 2001 to 2003,
Peter helped Hal and Lana set up the foundation of GHNI. Besides traveling with Hal and Lana on a
short term trip to Kenya and hosting them in his home many times between 2004 and 2016, Peter
sponsored GHNI Transformational Community Development (TCD) projects in Afghanistan and
Armenia. As promised to Hal, Peter is pleased to continue helping GHNI by serving as a GHNI Swiss
Board Member.
