Henry Deneen

Executive Director, Geneva

Henry L. Deneen serves as Executive Director of Global Hope Network International Geneva. Henry and his wife, Celia, have been married for 35 years. They are the parents of Lee (Ella), Laura (Sean), Leslie, and Layna.

Henry joins GHNI with 30 years of experience in leadership for organizations involved in international and cross-cultural work, most recently as an attorney and Director for Leadership Development at Murphy & Grantland, P.A. in Columbia, South Carolina and as the Co-Founder and Executive Director of the Center of Global Strategies. Henry also served as President of Greater Europe Mission for eight years. Prior to that, Henry lived with his family in France working as a strategy leader in North Africa to connect professionals in the west with business and government leaders in extremely isolated countries. His work has created broader efforts for development initiatives in Libya, Sudan, Yemen, Turkmenistan, Myanmar, Bulgaria, Dubai, Oman, and Vietnam.

Henry has also served in South Carolina as a mediator and attorney, a Municipal Judge, and as Chief Legal Counsel for the Governor of South Carolina from 1994 to 1997.

In 2014, he earned his Doctorate in Executive Leadership, with a focus on emotional intelligence. He continues to focus on connecting people and nations, relying on good will as well as Emotional Intelligence principles to bridge cultural, political, and social divides. In 2019, Henry and his daughter, Leslie, founded Blindspot Solutions, LLC with a goal of improving Emotional Intelligence for professionals and coaching them toward that end.

Celia is a Licensed Professional Counselor and teaches in the trauma counseling arena and works among refugees in South Carolina. She practices with Eastside Family Therapy Associates in Greer.
