It has been five months since the Women’s Empowerment Centres have been closed. Our students in the first Women’s Empowerment Centre have been helping their parents in the fields.

COVID-19 training

Currently, the whole world is in the grips of the greatest biological crisis that has faced mankind in more than a century.  Almost 4 weeks ago when it was only a blip on most people’s radars, we sounded the alarm and rallied the troops.  This included establishing a Global Crisis Management Team and sending our staff far and wide with the important message of how to identify the Corona Virus and prevent the spread of this deadly disease.

Women’s Empowerment Centre, Afghanistan

Literacy courses concluded at our Women Empowerment Centre (WEC). Forty women learnt how to read and write in Farsi, and they also learnt some mathematics. A little more than a year ago most of these women had difficulties even counting money.

Learners Who Became Teachers

Women’s Empowerment Centre, Afghanistan

Latifah and Rihanna have attended our English and Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons since we started the first Women’s Empowerment Centre (WEC) in June 2018. In addition to their regular school, these girls and boys have learnt English extremely well in a very short amount of time, even better than expected.
