GHNI Helping to Replace Stolen Generator

The Food Committee, through Transformational Community Development (TCD), helped the community engage in irrigation and in harvesting potatoes. Recently, there was a clash between tribes and the village generator was taken by bandits. This meant the Agriculture Group did not have a pump. This made it difficult to continue irrigation like before. GHNI is planning to provide them with another water pump.

Women Honoured and Helped with Training

Spitak, Armenia

 

This year, we had a longer winter than usual. It snowed until late March. On one hand, this was good for nature and agriculture as for many years we had mostly dry winters. People in Jrashen and Spitak are ready to start their work in the fields in April. They have cabbage and potato fields ready for planting. On the other hand, it was a very difficult time, as many struggled to pay the bills for electricity and gas for heating and cooking.

Teams Teach 21 Villages!

Our village multiplication programme is helping the villages to raise the resources from their own villages. We are now working in 21 different villages, uplifting the communities. Our recent programmes are making a difference. Food Always In The Home (FAITH) Gardens are helping the community to deal with food needs. FAITH Gardens and Self-Help Groups are providing more opportunities to build strong relationships.

Palm Fruits Generate a New Business

Attakassikro and Effaoho, Côte d’Ivoire

 

Teti, our Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker and his family visited Effaoho Village in February. He reported that village elders, who are mostly men, are very appreciative of the efforts put into the development of the school structure, and met to discuss the next level of development.
