Mother Knits Her Way to Independence

Ɖorgovska mahala, Serbia

In the past quarter, several families were infected with COVID-19 in the neighbourhood, so they were in isolation. We made short visits, just to review what they already learnt about Food, Water, Wellness, and Income Generation. We encouraged them to think about starting a microbusiness and become self-sustaining.

Compassionate Rice Distribution Increases Respect

MH Village*, Myanmar

The village has initiated a rehabilitation plan after a couple years of conflict in the area.

This quarter, I would like to highlight the progress of the Sanitation Project, Relief, and Rehabilitation Plan in the village. Although the situation is still challenging for the village leaders to continue to engage in Transformational Community (TCD) works, they have done a fantastic and important job until the end of this year.

Hope Counters Stigma

Kiwanjani Village, Kenya

When we talk of bringing hope to the hidden and hurting, what we usually have in mind are illness-related cases that led to rejection, stigmatisation, and at times cases that led one to be an outcast in the community whereby nobody wanted to associate or be identified with them.

The Power of Sewing

Isiolo Empowerment Centre, Kenya

Every month we share stories of progress from Isiolo Empowerment Centre. We want to take this great opportunity to express our appreciation to our supporters and donors who make this a reality. Among our many successes comes this story from Julia who graduated from our Empowerment Centre two years ago:

Soft Loan Success

Gem Village, Kenya

The four years are almost over and the good news is that GHNI has worked hard to accomplish their mission of restoring hope to the hopeless through community and individual transformation. The five areas of Transformational Community Development (TCD) are used as transformational indicator tools since they are the basic needs of any healthy family.

Working from Home

Vocational Training Programme, Jordan

We met with a group of Iraqi and Syrian refugees, who came asking for blankets. While receiving their blankets, one of our team chatted with them about their situation and their thoughts. He was wondering and sort of scratching his head to think of how they could make the best of their current situation and develop.

Making Room for the Goats

Goat Loan Programme, Jordan

In Mowaqar Village, Um Salim has now four newborn goats and is expecting more newborns in the beginning of the new year. The estimated total of newborn goats will be 15. Um Salim rented land next to her house and made it a barn for the goats because her house is small and the number of goats is increasing.

Thank you!
