Um Abdallah lives in Mufaradat Village and she had ten newborn sheep. She sold five of the new sheep and the rest belong to GHNI. Um Abdallah also bought two big sheep with the money she earned from selling the newborns. This will help to increase the productivity of milk and butter. She is also doing well with her dove project and she has gone from having 20 doves to 50. We are there for her and give her the support she needs.

Making the Most of the Moments

*Rifat is an Iraqi young man and is 17 years old. Rifat and his family have been in Jordan since 2015. He and his family fled from their hometown, Bartila Village, because of the death threats made by violent groups in the area. They did not have anywhere to go. Everything was taken away from them, including their house, their money, their belongings, their friends, their memories, their village . . . everything!

Ladies of Jatapara Generate Good Incomes

In Jatapara Village, villagers are encouraged to improve their financial condition. A few ladies of Jatapara were told about women of Dhoker Jhara Village who made money by selling food items. The women were so excited to hear this. They collected 200 rupees each and deposited about 1,000 rupees in the group.

Persevering Despite Criticism

In the spring, more attention was paid to increasing the income of the villagers in the group. To improve the financial condition of the group, training was given to the women to make fast foods, such as namkeens (healthy indian evening savory snacks), pakode (a fried Indian snack), etc. Few women tried these at home, and a few succeeded while few did not.
