Finally Working for Their Own Future

Husein is 39 years old and lives in Bisidimo Village. He did not have anything in hand. He and his wife worked on the farmland owned by someone else. They are making a small wage from that, but it is not enough to feed him and his family.


After we started Transformational Community Development (TCD) in his village, he was selected by the TCD committee and village leaders and filled with great hope to change his life.


New Opportunities for Home Seamstresses

More than 30 ladies received a sewing machine to work with in their homes after the completion of three training sessions in the Ezbit el Amir region in Al Khosos, Cairo. These ladies worked to succeed in this project, for it was a way to increase their income and family's stability, and to ensure their children could continue to go to school.

Our last meeting with the Revenue Committee allowed us to talk about the following questions:


What is the role of the village Revenue Committee? Who owns the project? Who is responsible for managing the soap-making material? (A reminder to the committee of the importance of community ownership and not depending on outside help.) Is the construction of a small building to store the material still currently in the planning?

The group at the Computer Center is gaining a lot of computer knowledge and skills. They are learning and practicing typing skills. The teacher is also helping them to grasp formulas. The students are very happy in this good atmosphere.
