Influencing a Family through TCD

Hojagi Cluster Village, Tajikistan

This is a story about Zulfiya and her family who live in Yavan. Her husband Unus was from Takob, and he is my friend. About a month ago when I was sick, he asked me to help his family. He heard from some people that I work in Yavan and he found my phone number and called me. I took my wife, Polina, with me and we went to their house. Their village is close to Yavan and it’s called Sarkamish. We had a great discussion when we met.

Progress in Spite of Obstacles

Hoja Bulbulok, Tajikistan

In all of our Transformational Community Development (TCD) villages here, we have the same problem – we only can work with young people from age 16 to 26. Almost all the men age 26-45 go to Russia for work to earn hard currency. In total, about 90% of the men in the villages leave.
