“Smile” Exhibit Draws Large Crowds

Garden of Peace & Hope, Afghanistan

In April, we made big changes in the Garden of Peace and Hope. We replaced some damaged flower beds and plated new flowers. So, on the first of this month, I held an exhibition (reported previously) and planned another exhibition for April 29. Unfortunately, this exhibition was canceled because the government announced security concerns. I rescheduled the event for May 1st.

The recent exhibition that took place inside the garden was titled “Smile”, showcasing the works of ten young male and female artists over three days. This exhibition went wonderfully, and lots of young people visited, including TV reporters and government officials. The garden looks very beautiful in this season with new flowers, however, the weather is a little cold so not all the flowers are blooming. With fountains and flowers, the garden is a wonderful place for visiting and walking.
