The Garden of Peace and Hope is alive and full of activity. We hosted three exhibitions in the last two months, celebrating Women’s Day by exhibiting women’s drawings. These exhibitions offer a huge opportunity for many artists, photographers, and those who work with art and culture—especially those from Afghanistan.

We held an exhibition in February at the Afghan Cultural House. It was a great exhibition of handicrafts displayed publicly for all participants. All the works exhibited were by female artists. More than 200 people participated in this exhibition.

Planning New Poplar Fields

*Valley of Ali, Afghanistan

Seven years ago, GHNI contracted a plot of land in the Valley of Ali so many farmers could benefit from our poplar cuttings project. Every year, we distributed our poplars and served as a model for local people. They could see and learn how to grow the fast-growing poplar trees in their fields. This village is suitable for growing poplars, and previously the local people didn't know how to grow them.
