Medical Team Brings Help & Hope

Mainasara and Fatima had opportunities for re-training and traveling in the course of the last quarter and at the beginning of the present quarter. The travels that took them out of Koubah Bingo for weeks, coupled with the rainy /farming season activities, resulted in the Transformational Community Development (TCD) activities being scaled down. Mainasara was asked to attend the TCD Training of Teachers course 1 (TOT 1) that was held in Port-Novo, Benin Republic in mid-August by way of a refresher course.

Why Should You Participate in Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday started in 2012 as a response to consumerism after Thanksgiving, specifically Black Friday and Cyber Monday. It started small, but each year, more and more organizations and donors have participated worldwide.

Giving Tuesday is huge for Global Hope Network International. In 2017, donors gave nearly $16,000 to support GHNI’s greatest need. That’s enough money to support an entire Transformational Community Development (TCD) village for a full year!

What Is Giving Tuesday?

If you have been waiting for the right time to make a gift to GHNI, we’d like to invite you to join us for Giving Tuesday. Giving Tuesday is a national initiative to encourage people to include donations to nonprofit organizations among their holiday gifts.

Gathering Around the Globe

The power of sharing a meal together is universal. All around the world, families and friends gather around the table to reconnect and be nourished. This fall, take a moment for peace and gratitude shared with loved ones.

Before the busy holiday season kicks into full gear, be sure to pause and take time to focus on the things that matter most. To truly connect this fall, we all need to put down our devices and center our gatherings on the people seated right at our own tables.

Train to Transformation is Moving On

The pace of work in Blamonga Village has been very slow. Two projects have been initiated in the village—a school building and a Women’s Center—in order to commence training full swing. The sewing and knitting machines purchased for the village are kept in the custody of the village chief.

Recovering from Malaria & Typhoid

Moses, our Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker in Ahumbe Village, took ill with malaria and typhoid in August. He was placed on a prolonged typhoid treatment throughout the month. As Moses was not physically fit and, he was unable to carry out or coordinate any TCD activity in the village within the month. He is much better now and recuperating. We wish Moses a quick and full recovery and look forward to an eventful TCD September.
