Building a Home for the Homeless

House of Esther, Armenia

Before winter set in, our team descended upon the House of Esther with several boxes filled with necessary household items, tools, and building materials. The weather was nice and warm, so we worked long hours, with enthusiasm and hope, to finish as much as possible. The construction contractor, his workers, and some local friends were helping us.

We installed a solar water heating system on the roof of the building. With a capacity of 300 liters, it will be enough for our needs. Once we reach our objective to build the barn, the refugee families who will live in the House of Esther will be able to raise animals for themselves and sell them for income. In the same way, they will be able to plant a vegetable garden and fruit trees to provide food for themselves and extra to sell.

On the weekend, we invited a few refugee families to join us for a picnic gathering. A French teen group that was visiting Armenia joined us for the event. We all had fun and a happy, rewarding weekend. Since then, the weather has turned cold, but we look forward to many warm and healing meals together with the Syrian refugees.

Thank you for helping to bring healing and hope to these Syrian refugees in Armenia!
