Celebrating International Women’s Day

Women’s Empowerment Centres, Afghanistan

As we are teaching hygiene to the Women’s Empowerment Centre (WEC) attendees, we distributed toothbrushes and toothpaste to 100 students. We also celebrated International Women’s Day at the WEC, where we also distributed socks and soap to 140 attendees.

About 50 girls and boys are learning English at the WEC, and 45 women are learning literacy, hygiene, and birth life-saving skills (BLISS). The women sew traditional Afghan clothes and sell them in local markets to improve their economic conditions.

We are going to survey some villages for future Transformational Community Development (TCD) and hope to start new WEC very soon.

Thank you!
