Educated to Be Resourceful

Tanakeke-Cambaloe Village, Indonesia

A long drought and heat have caused cracks in several of the rainwater tanks in Cambaloe Village, which is not abnormal for concrete tanks. Having learned from GHNI’s previous training on maintenance of water tanks using local resources, this situation has prompted households to gather their resources to repair the tanks before the rainy season fully starts.

One Cambaloe resident, Haji Sese, who joined GHNI’s clean water program, was busy repairing the gutter of his water tank during our team’s last visit to the island. Thanks to the program, Haji Sese is happy not to have to worry anymore about the availability of clean water for his family in the dry season, because they now have a rainwater tank to collect it.

Your support has made it possible for us to educate these villagers on how to use their resources. Thank you!
