General Clinic

 

This month, our doctor has received 31 patients; 7 were Syrians, the rest of the patients were Jordanians from the village of Ma'in. Due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Jordan, people are being very worried and concerned, trying to be careful. Therefore, fewer people are coming to the clinic, so our team goes once a week to the centre for the time being.

Children Learn About Bread

The Education Committee in Mawa is presently considering their next steps. In the beginning of the programme last year, they identified several areas of need to be addressed in order to develop as a village and as individuals. One of the issues discussed was the problem of children’s Education.

Girls in this area suffer from neglect and marginalisation, and every day they hear painful words such as: “You are not beautiful, you are stupid, you are hated”.  This makes the girls lose confidence from everyone around them.

English class and Health lessons are going well at the Women’s Empowerment Centre—East (WEC2). English students also learnt Transformational Community Development (TCD), which included Health lessons once a week.

New Schedule Helps Students Learn

Asmaan* is a 23-year-old English instructor at the Women’s Empowerment Centre (WEC). She was excited to hear that the government announced that schools would be closed for four months because of seasonal coldness and the second wave of COVID-19 outbreaks. This meant that students could attend the WEC!
