Encouragement for the Overlooked

House of Esther, Armenia

This month, new doors were opened and more opportunities were available to serve in Spitak Village.

Chicken Project

Every month we make home visits. This month we visited a family who lives in a small container and has four children. Three of the children have poor health. The father of the family is also struggling with health issues. While spending time with them, we found out that many times they do not have enough food to eat. As we did not have any funds available, we decided to share their story with you, our friends. A friend from our community group in Vanadzor agreed to buy them 10 chickens. Therefore, we are happy to inform you that this family is joining our community chicken project.

Women’s Group

We would like to share *Sona’s story. We met with her during our Women’s Group. She was married with three children when a tragedy happened to her youngest son and he died in a car accident. After that, her husband divorced her. Since then, she has not been able to take care of the two surviving children as a single mother, and so she took them to an orphanage.

Following that, Sona got a boyfriend and became pregnant, after which the man left her all alone. When we met her, she was in her eight month of pregnancy. She was in a terrible emotional and social condition. The community is judging her and almost no one wants to speak with her. Sona has a small container to live in, baresly surviving and her living conditions are very bad.

We spent some time together and gave Sona some words of encouragement for her. We also will try to collect some clothes and supplies for the baby and help her to prepare her home. We do not forget the brokenhearted.  (For privacy, we are unable to share her photo.)

Thank you!
