Garden Blooms, Artists Will Soon!

Garden of Peace and Hope, Afghanistan

The season of blooming at the Garden of Peace and Hope has arrived. Currently, the garden looks green, and all of the flowers are blooming, day by day. Abdul, the gardener, takes great care of the garden by planting some new seasonal flowers. Still, we are struggling with the gallery staff occupying our space, due to problems with the gallery’s agreement with the Ministry of Arts and Culture. Last week, I was supposed to talk with the new minister about the gallery’s staff and I also wanted to invite him to the Geneva Institute for Leadership and Public Policy (GILPP), but the minister was out.

During Ramadan (the Muslim month of fasting) we do not conduct exhibitions. I only met with the artists. Most of them ask me to find someone to buy their paintings. I have talked with our contact in Hawaii) recently to find some way of making a website to display all digital prints of art to be sold. I am also looking for opportunities to help them by conducting exhibitions outside of Afghanistan. Those who sold their works to the school last year were very encouraged and interested in expanding this possibility.

Thank you!
