GHNI Geneva’s New Executive Director: Henry Deneen

Global Hope Network International (GHNI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Henry L. Deneen as the Executive Director of Global Hope Network International Geneva beginning this December. This announcement was made by the Chair of GHNI’s Geneva Board of Directors, Norman Hawkins. Norman stated, “Hal’s passing a year ago left a big hole in GHNI... Henry’s character, leadership, and service to the Hidden and Hurting uniquely qualify him to lead this work going forward. Our Board of Directors was unanimous in confirming his appointment, and we are excited as this next chapter for GHNI opens.”

In this role, Henry and his wife, Celia, will provide leadership and support to all GHNI field teams around the world as well as the annual Geneva Institute for Leadership and Public Policy (GILPP). GHNI, which was founded by Hal and Lana Jones in 2000, is now working in more than 30 countries with 100 field staff, volunteers, and partners.

Looking to the future for GHNI, Henry and Celia shared, “We are passionate about the vision and mission of GHNI and want to see an end to poverty and the development of self-sustaining communities around the globe. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to engage in thoughtful dialogue with world leaders through the Geneva Institute for Leadership and Public Policy. We enjoy calling people to a vision bigger than themselves and building on the past and current success of Global Hope Network International to fulfill that vision; bringing more impact and a brighter future filled with hope to those we serve and care about so deeply.”

David M. Beasley, the Executive Director at the World Food Programme said, "I was very pleased to see the announcement this week of my friend, Henry Deneen, as the new Executive Director of GHNI Geneva. I know Henry will work to build on the past successes of GHNI and help strategically position GHNI for a very prosperous future. I look forward to keeping up with GHNI’s many initiatives around the world and in Geneva."

Lana Jones affirmed the decision and said, “I am confident in Henry’s leadership and in the amazing capacity of the current GHNI leadership team to continue accelerating GHNI’s impact around the world.”

We are so excited to welcome Henry and Celia, along with their family, as they join the Global Hope Network International family. We are excited to see what happens during this next chapter!
