A Gift of Gratitude

Refugees in Lebanon

I was working in the office today when Abila* came suddenly from her class to see me. She was holding a small gift. She gave it to me and said, "I love you." I cried when I opened the bag and found a small white paper with a simple letter and some hearts.

Her father is very sick with no job, and her mother is receiving medical treatment, too. Abila has three sisters and two brothers. We helped the family by providing medical treatment. They are living on the food portion they receive and some help from the UN.

I asked Abila what she needed for her sister. She said new clothes. I gave her some money and a big hug.

The education courses taught at the House of Sara are going strong and prove to be very effective.

Thank you,
