Harowayo Goes Bananas!

Harowayo Village, Ethiopia

One of our greatest achievements since we started Transformational Community Development (TCD) in the southern part of the country is the method we use to produce drought-resistant fruit trees. This method is now implemented in almost all the villages because, once the trees start to give fruit, the villagers have more food and can make very good money.

In Harowayo Village, the Agriculture Group planted 270 banana trees 1 year ago. Now the trees are starting to produce abundant fruit. Kejela, one of the committee members in Harowayo, is married and has three children. He is very happy in his work and now his income is growing as well. Kejela is very encouraged by the agricultural activity and its rewards that he and his family are now enjoying at his compound.

Thank you!
