A Hard-Working Widow

Meet Dido, a 57-year-old woman living in Harowayo Village. Sadly, her husband died five years ago. She has only one son, who is living in Mersabet, on the Kenyan side. She lives alone and some of the villagers are helping her with different needs.

Reaping a Good Harvest

Kuma is living in Harowayo Village. A 35-year-old husband, he and his wife have two children. He attended school up to grade ten and also herded some cattle for his family. After two years, he got married and continued herding his cattle with his wife.


Prepared to Change Her Future

Kemo is a 29-year-old mother of two children who lives in Harowayo Village. Kemo’s husband left her and their children and she was struggling to feed both them and herself. Life was very difficult for her. Sometimes she cannot feed her children.


Tume’s New Hope

In just couple months, all committees for the five areas of Transformational Community Development (TCD) have been established in Harowayo Village. Abunu is one of the village recipients the income generation committee distributed goats to. Tume is one of the twelve women selected to be a member of the income generation group. A young 34 year old widow, Tume has four children.

Harowayo Village is another one of our new villages, also found in the southern part of Ethiopia in the Borana Zone, similar to Dida Hara Village.
