Helping with Medicine

Ezbit el Nakhl Village, Egypt

Nane* is one of the women in Ezbet El Nakhl. Her husband used to work in a clothes factory, but after the COVID-19 situation began, he was dismissed from work. She was under a lot of pressure emotionally and financially. She doesn’t have any children. She had open heart surgery a while ago, so she needs to take expensive medicine. After our call and encouragement, she obtained the medicine she had needed for months. She was so thankful for the support we provided her through her hardships.

Over the past three months, we called all the women in the area every week to check up on them because the government had forbidden any gatherings. Through phone calls we raised awareness and gave advice on how to prevent COVID-19 infection. We helped them use their time wisely during the quarantine.

We helped some elderly women who don’t have anyone taking care of them by shopping for them, allowing them to stay home instead. We distributed 120 food supply boxes to families in need, and we visited some sick people and encouraged them as well.

For the next three months, we will continue calling the women weekly while raising awareness and giving advice to prevent COVID-19 infection. We will keep helping the families in need start small projects to help them financially until the government allows gatherings again. We will keep helping elderly women and widows by buying their needs for them. We will provide families that were affected by the COVID-19 situation with food supplies and financial aid.

Thank you!
