Hybrid Poplar Trees Successfully Introduced

*Valley of Ali, Afghanistan

Now that it’s winter, the growing season is over. There will be no activity for the next three months. The Valley of Ali region is high in altitude, where winter is very severe with lots of snow on the ground. Since 2009, thousands of poplar tree cuttings have been distributed to the local people, and many farmers have learned how to plant the hybrid poplars in their fields. Before, these people never knew about poplars, so our tree project was a model in that area. We are examining ways to make the tree project more visible and accessible to more people. Thank you for your support and commitment to the people of Afghanistan.
