The Value of Education

The Jatapara community is doing well. This month we had a small parent meeting. In this, they were told about the courses and that they should send their children to school and encourage them to not be absent from classes.


Making Repairs on Their Own

In our weekly meetings, the deplorable condition of a village road leading to the Jaldhaka River was often discussed. During rainy season, this village road is difficult to walk due to heavy mud and waterlogging. Villagers take this path to reach the nearby Jaldhaka River and the agricultural land on the bank of the river.


Adopting New Ways

Villagers of Jatapara were encouraged not to go bathroom in the open because they would pollute the environment. This will cause many diseases and problems. Their government started a program for villagers to build bathrooms in front of their homes. So, they were told to build a bathroom, but they were unable to do it on their own.


Initiating New Goat Program

Since January, we have been working on income generation plans and we told the committee to come up with the most suitable and easy method. The committee had different plans and ideas regarding income generation but unanimously came to agree upon a Goat Loan Program.


A Special School Filled with Joy

This quarter, we focused on health awareness and encouraged villagers to return their children to school. Before, villagers were not sending their children to school because of school fees. Now they have come to value education in Dhoker Jhara Village and are happy. A man named *Sahil came and talked to school authorities to talk about admission all by himself.


Bringing Out the Best in Themselves

Kharibari villagers are doing good as everyone is quite fine and healthy. This year, women from our village are coming up with many great ideas and work to bring out the best in their society.


*Parinaaz, our women of peace in Kharibari Village, is having a good time as her cow and sow gave birth to a calf and piglets last month, respectively. She is the key member of our team in Kharibari.
