Interest in TCD is Spreading

CP Village*, Nepal

I am fortunate to have been able to bring our Transformational Community Development (TCD) work in this pandemic time. I feel proud to be a TCD worker and have a good chance to help community people by sharing the important TCD lessons which bring transformation in the community. Because of our lessons, people in the village have learnt many ideas and resources to be self-sustainable, like micro shops, domestic animal keeping, poultry farming.

The coronavirus has disrupted our teaching as there are lockdowns, but we are trying to continue teaching safely in the field. We teach prevention of the coronavirus, income generation, good food and drinking safe water.

With the help of the TCD fund, we distributed relief food like rice, dal, soap, oil, salt to the community people who were suffering due to the coronavirus lockdown. It was our best work for the community.

Two other villages have seen the great work we are doing and are interested in participating in our TCD programme.

TCD Update

  • Water - Because of TCD, community people knew the importance of safe drinking water. Now people use safe water for drinking, cooking and washing. As a result, the water tank has been cleaned.
  • Food - We have distributed food to combat a food crisis that has happened during the lockdown.
  • Income Generation – I encouraged them to raise animals and start their own micro-shops.
  • Education - Schools are closed and we encourage parents to teach their children at home.
  • Wellness - People are aware of best sanitation practices as a result of our TCD lessons.

Thank you!
