Keeping Warm in the Cold Season

*DG Village, Nepal

It was the cold season in DG Village and the community members worried as to how to protect their children and the older citizens as they don't have heating systems nor warm clothes for protection. But, they persevered as they still had to do their work for survival. Our Transformational Community Development (TCD) team followed up with the group and shared about how to protect themselves. I taught them to drink a lot of water and how to keep warm despite their torn clothing. One effective way to do this was to light a fire and sit in front of it for heat. They are very excited to learn new things from TCD class. I also shared with them how they can be safe from the common cold and other diseases. These lessons in particular are so powerful.

Some of the things we discussed this month included causes and symptoms of mouth disease, as well as how to prevent them. Our group discussions also focussed on the importance of education and safe drinking water.

Thank you!
