Kharibari Offers “Clean Toilet Awards”

Kharibari Village, India

The Wellness Committee has agreed to start a “Clean Toilet  Award” every two months to encourage villagers to keep their toilets clean and well maintained. The children are learning well in our weekly special classes but the attendance fluctuates. We need to provide some sweets or other things to keep them coming.

After a number of invitations, Theble, a senior leader in the village, attended our Transformational Community Development (TCD) meeting. We are so glad he attended! We decided to continue to pursue the local authorities for basic amenities such as electricity and a Public Health Engineering (PHE) water connection. Accordingly, we wrote an application to the concerned authorities. We have been asked to come this month to submit it, and hope for the best.

I was also invited to speak at a meeting in Ranicherra where I shared about the work of GHNI. This month I was invited to the same meeting to speak to a larger group in Meenglass to share about TCD!

Thank you,

Sanjay
