Lessons on Income Generation Paying Off

RM Village*, Nepal

In February, I did many Transformational Community Development (TCD) activities, meetings, and classes. Most importantly, we have received Seed Money back from the first group and have given it to the second group members. There are 10 people receiving the Seed Money. One member of the first group benefited greatly from the Seed Money and successfully raised their income. It was so encouraging to the other members of the group. They all did a good job. The villagers learnt to be faithful to the members of their community and to the Committee.

I went to another village and conducted a one-day TCD training and distributed Seed Money to farmers. We have good connections and partnership with them and helped to distribute stationery materials for school to 36 children of that village. This has opened up an opportunity to build more relationships with the villagers.

I also went to a village and met with one of their leaders and shared with him about the TCD movement and how they can benefit from TCD. After talking for an hour, he was encouraged and was willing to start TCD in his community. Besides this, I visited another village where I met with their leader. In that village, I taught the villagers about Wellness, Healthy Food, and Income Generation. They are excited and willing to expand TCD in this village.

One of the leaders has already started TCD. Many villagers are engaging in Income Generation work. I went there and taught them TCD lessons about how they can save their money.

There is a scarcity of drinking water in the dry season. Therefore, we formed the Water Management Committee. The committee members are now responsible to provide water for the villagers. They can go to the local government and ask for help to solve the water problem in this village.

Thank you!
