Locals in Distributed Masks

Murtoch* Yagnob Cluster Villages, Tajikistan

This month was very fruitful for us. We did a lot of work in Transformational Community Development (TCD) areas and developed some low cost projects in the Murtoch Village Cluster. Additionally, we distributed 1,000 masks around the villages where we work and gave help and hope to the many people we met. In the present situation with the coronavirus, we gave people masks, which each village needed. Unfortunately, some people have exploited this situation to sell humanitarian aid that comes from different countries.

We distributed 650 masks in Murtoch, 200 in Hamadoni, and 150 in Beshkent. However, we haven’t had the opportunity to distribute more masks because they have become too expensive. We also helped start seven kitchen gardens and two very big gardens. One large multifamily garden was planted in Murtoch and another in Hamadoni. We hope to help more families in Hamadoni in June. In Hamadoni, the gardens are helping approximately 10 families, or about 90 people overall. In Murtoch, we planted seven gardens. This helps feed about 14 families, or approximately 120 people.

The coronavirus is widespread in the Yavan Vakhdat area, which makes it too risky for us to do anything. We taught health lessons about the coronavirus, and my wife, Polina, and our workers have been doing a great job.

Thank you!
