Managing the Goats

Goat Loan Programme, Jordan

In Um Battma Village, one of the Committee members has visited the new hosting family (Um Omari – the mother of Omari) this month to follow up and assess their progress and management abilities of this project. He found that the family took good care of the goats, their place was clean and well prepared for the winter season. He reported to us that the family is capable of running the project well and advised us to increase the number of goats.

Our plan is to give this family more goats to help them improve their living conditions and generate income, but in order to do that, we are waiting for the newborn goats at Um Salim's. Her barn is becoming a central point of distribution, like a base. Um Salim has now 37 goats and, in the coming months, we are expecting an increase of number (45 – 50 goats total). Then we will move some of the goats to the family of Um Omari, and maybe start with another new hosting family.

Thank you,
