Special Tastes from Their Cultures

Vocational Training Programme, Jordan

Our Vocational Training Project (VTP) continues to help the beneficiary families through our orders of their different items which carry special tastes from their cultures and home land. This helps them to generate some income which somehow helps to cover some of their expenses and financial commitments.

Computer Class

This month the students completed the basics of how to use the computer. They all mastered the basics of using the computer and moved to study Microsoft Office Word. The teacher noticed that all students are very smart, even those who have not used the computer before and do not have a computer at home. The students who are older have more ability to understand the lessons than the younger ones.

Blast Devastates Beirut

Refugees in Lebanon

Forty days have passed since one of the largest non-nuclear explosions in the history of the world devastated Beirut. As we watch the daily news, the scenes seem more like a Hollywood film than reality. Victims and casualties are everywhere, and yet the visible damage is just the tip of the iceberg.

Serving Without Expecting Return

Computer Class

After more than four months of being closed, the computer class has reopened this month. We're able to offer health education and safety and hygiene instructions to ensure that the coronavirus does not spread between our students. With that being said, our students had to wear masks and use hand sanitiser while attending the class.

Committee Takes the Lead

Goat Loan Programme, Jordan

Our committee in Al Thehaiban Village, which consists of Sheikh Ayed, his son Khairo, and Um Salem, has chosen a new family to start with a goat project. The committee took care of everything from the beginning. They found the family, they bought two goats, and they have worked closely with this new family in order to be ready to start the project. We only supervised the committee's work progress from afar.

The clinic is implementing the restrictions and following the related instructions, which are required for the safety of everyone. We are restricting the number of patients we are receiving. Each bus is to stay between 11 and 13 patients to keep social distancing guidelines.

Never Underestimate Water’s Importance

Holy Land Garden

There is an old idiom that says, “Experience is the best teacher.” That is certainly true when working in a different country and experiencing so many new climate-related factors for the first time. As we serve in the Holy Land Garden, it becomes so apparent that the time of learning through experience is not only necessary but valuable.
