More Family Time

Harowayo Village, Ethiopia

Kejela is a 46-year-old married man with five children in Harowayo Village. Most of the time, he was not at home. He was unable to stay with his family because he was moving place to place to look for pasture and water for his herd. All the burdens of home fell on his wife. This kind of life gave him no comfort, so when he saw the Transformational Community Development (TCD) group’s activity, he began asking the TCD workers how to become a member. He saw a way to leave his hectic activity and have more time with his children, sharing burdens with his wife. Finally he became a member of the Agriculture Group. Now he is making very good money. He also started an individual farm, harvesting more than 12,000 birr (about $430).
