Motivated to Keep Planting

Dhoker Jhara Village, India

This month, it was encouraging that we didn’t have to tell the villagers to plant their next crop, just after harvesting rice. They did it by themselves. The village committee had arranged a meeting and decided to do a second crop. However, because of an insufficient water source, they could not do it to a large extent, but only in places where they could drag the water. They mainly grew mustard plants and some seasonal vegetables.

I talked to a government servant who is a trainer in animal husbandry. I asked him if he could give our villagers some training in animal husbandry. He agreed and is coming next week for the training. Villagers are excited about this and we are hoping it will be a milestone in the uplifting of our community.
