Multiple Challenges Slow Progress

Garden of Peace and Hope, Afghanistan

Hopefully, the situation at the Garden of Peace and Hope will get better soon. In recent days, the Ministry of Culture said it would allow us to continue our exhibitions and activities if the pandemic does not rise among people. We have some problems due to the virus, yet we continue to work in the Garden.

We cleaned the inside of the building and planted some new flowers. Also, our gardener recommended pruning some tree branches as their shadows were blocking sunlight from some of the flowers. The pruning helped to alleviate this problem.

On top of the COVID-19 crisis and other problems, we also lost power. Without electricity, there was no water for a few days, and this negatively impacted the Garden. In the future, we will have an exhibition when the situation is back to normal.

Thank you!
