New Committee Searches for Groundwater

Didi Hara Village, Ethiopia

Didi Hara Village is an area mostly attacked by a shortage of rainwater. Because of this, the villagers move from place to place to find water and pasture for their cattle. Their life depends on this. When we started Transformational Community Development (TCD) in this area, we had several discussions with the village leaders to change this kind of lifestyle. We strongly encouraged them to diversify their activity instead of only engaging in animal raising. They understood and together we selected group members. One of the groups established was the Agriculture group. This committee is trying to solve the water problem through digging deep into the ground for irrigation.

Thank you!
