New Schedule Helps Students Learn

Women’s Empowerment Centre, Afghanistan

Asmaan* is a 23-year-old English instructor at the Women’s Empowerment Centre (WEC). She was excited to hear that the government announced that schools would be closed for four months because of seasonal coldness and the second wave of COVID-19 outbreaks. This meant that students could attend the WEC!

Asmaan has 50 students that include girls and boys. She loves her students. Soon Asmaan is scheduled to start her two English classes, back-to-back, from 2 to 3 p.m., then from 3 to 4 p.m. Before that, Asmaan used to begin her class in the early morning and then at night because the students had to go to school.

Now the students will be better able to focus on their English lessons. The students are also learning and memorizing Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons, which include Health lessons, one day per week.

Thank you!
