No Longer Weather-Dependent

Dhoker Jhara Village, India

Villagers are very excited about the Transformational Community Development (TCD) programs. Last month, they got a hand pump, and before that, they received also a bore-well. Additionally, a river water-lifting pipeline is being built for increased cultivation production. Before, they were dependent on weather for cultivating vegetables and crops.  Now they are no longer depend on weather. They are really excited for this!

In village Dhoker Jhara, they cultivate 30% of Rabi Crops (agricultural crops sown in winter and harvested in the spring). However, the lives of these people are not changed because they have lack of idea about expense management. We are educating them to invest their money carefully and increase their profit, so that their next generation could be stronger in education and finance, and also help other villagers develop their community.

Many villagers of Dhokar Jhara, Ranga, and Hempur, who had doubts about TCD, are now convinced they can see transformation through this program. People of these three villages are hoping for mini-loans or support for goat-farming for income generation. People are excited and thankful for the TCD programs. This opens a chance to spread our work to nearby villages. A new school is ready to open, and we are planning to start it next month.
