Palm Fruits Generate a New Business

Attakassikro and Effaoho, Côte d’Ivoire

Teti, our Transformational Community Development (TCD) worker and his family visited Effaoho Village in February. He reported that village elders, who are mostly men, are very appreciative of the efforts put into the development of the school structure, and met to discuss the next level of development.

Under the Income Generation Committee, village women met to discuss and initiate a cooperative to help women become financially independent. The cooperative’s goal is to process palm fruits into palm oil they can sell in the local markets. The women are excited and are working on procedures to get the cooperative functioning. We hope that in the coming months the cooperative will be fully operational!

Thank you!
