Valley of Ali, Afghanistan
Every year we prepare to distribute hybrid Poplar cuttings in March. If the ground is not wet, we go to check the trees, cut the branches, and make the cuttings.
As I spoke with a local staffer, he said three farmers had already approached him and were interested in getting cuttings. The distribution starts in the Spring. We hope to distribute Poplar cuttings to more local farmers.
We are happy to enter the dry season each year. Through GHNI, we are glad to bring positive change to local forestry. Local farmers are encouraged to plant trees every year and promote the culture of tree planting in valleys and villages.
Thank you!
