A Positive Influence for Self-Sustainability

Polewali, Indonesia

Henry is a young husband and father of one. In Polewali Village, he works to provide for his family by doing manual labour on farms. After receiving Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons from the GHNI team, he has become a key figure in the programme by calling his neighbours to action and discouraging pessimistic attitudes that are still present in the community.

This month, Henry saw that an old concrete path in the village was something that could be fixed. He organised his neighbours to pitch in and they repaired the path, allowing motorbikes to come and go freely and safely. In addition, he is playing a major part in raising funds for the fourth water source to be dug in the village. His positivity is infectious, and we look forward to seeing what else Henry and others can accomplish in the future as the villagers of Polewali continue on their journey of lifting themselves out of poverty.

Thank you,
