Preventing Disease at Home

*DG Village, Nepal

Many families have benefited from the recent focus on various health problems. After a discussion about the eye problem in the group, they concluded that they could help to control such diseases at home. They learned about types of worms and how they could be protected from them. Also, we discussed the importance of sanitation. This is very important for these communities. They are learning better. We go house to house and talk with them if they are busy in their work.

When we started Transformational Community Development (TCD) classes in DG Village, most of the children were disobedient of their parents. They did not go to school regularly and their parents asked me how their children could become good. After that, I visited house to house to meet their children and then more and more children started coming to TCD class. I encouraged them to always attend TCD class to learn many things. They obeyed my request and started to go to school, so their parents were also happy with our TCD class. They helped to send their children regularly. This is how their community benefited and they are happy with TCD class and the Income Generation program.
