Providing Encouragement and New Glasses!

Ezbit el Nakhl Village, Egypt

Women of Ezbit el Nakhl

After finishing the lessons on Parental Interference and Internal Affairs of a Home: Its Secrets and Problems, one of the ladies sat and shared with me. Teraza is a hard worker and a very committed lady. She was complaining about her marriage to her cousin. He was mistreating her, even though she does everything he asks for, pays attention to him, and takes good care of his needs. Yet he keeps on preventing her from going to meetings. He doesn’t trust her and doubts her behavior and morals.

I encouraged Teraza by telling her that there is nothing impossible. She can win him and change his behaviors by her patience, love, and her good reputation. I told her to remember and focus on the good things he does for her and for their children, even when they were small. Also, I encouraged her to keep going to meetings, and hoping to one day see the change she longs to see in her husband.

During the past months, we held a picnic and taught lessons on the following topics:
  • Forgiveness
  • Cooperation with Others
  • Love Those Who Disagree with Me
  • How to Control My Reactions
  • Limits in Relationships with Parents
  • Self-Love
  • Inner Beauty
  • Satisfaction
  • Tooth Pain
  • Home Financial Management
For this quarter, we plan to teach lessons on the following topics:
  • Keeping Secrets
  • Forgiveness
  • Honoring Parents
  • Harassment
  • Encouraging Our Children
  • How to Deal with Children Skipping School
  • Winter Diseases
  • Diabetes
  • The Meaning of Fasting
  • Rest

Children of Ezbit el Nakhl

This past quarter, we experienced “you’ana,” the happiness of a child. Every Friday, we hold weekly meetings for the children in Ezbit el Nakhl Village. During the lesson, while demonstrating with tools like the board and the projector screen, we discovered one little girl who is ten years old and can’t see properly. Right away, we gave her a vision test and took her measurements for glasses.

At the next meeting, she showed up wearing a very wide smile that she didn’t have before. That smile was there because she could see everything that was displayed that time. She expressed how happy she was, because she got her new glasses before starting the school semester. She thanked us many times as she appreciated that our organization has cared for her for three years.

In the past three months, we prepared a fun picnic for the children and their mothers, and distributed stationery and school supplies to 195 children.

Also, we taught the children lessons on the following topics:
  • Who You Are and How to Live Happily
  • Success
  • Faithfulness and Mercy
  • Healthy Food (we provided breakfast and lunch for the children)
For this quarter, we plan to show a movie and teach the children lessons on the following topics:
  • Smoking’s Side Effects
  • Watch Out for Danger
  • I Will Love Everybody
  • Stay Away from Evil
  • Love
  • Peace
  • Anger
  • Keep the System
  • Love My Country
  • I’m Special
  • Handicrafts
  • Celebrate the New Year!
