Providing for Their Children’s Future

Didi Hara Village, Ethiopia

Sora is a 45-year-old man living in Didi Hara Village. He is married and has four children. He joined the agriculture group a little later than others, but he is hard working man. Every day, he is working hard on the irrigation field. Sora has very good knowledge on how to make seedlings, and every two months, he produces different seedlings to sell to the villagers. He can make money from that and, for example, last month he earned 2,300 birr (about $80). This has been inspiring him to work hard to help his family. Now, three of his children can attend school and Sora can provide them school materials and school uniforms. Additionally, Sora’s wife is also doing the same thing in the backyard of their house for income and for more than enough food for her family.

These days, we are helping the community to settle from the conflict between tribes around the area.

In the next few months, our TCD workers will focus on helping the community focus on TCD activity and increasing production.
