Recovering from a Flood

Helwan Village, Egypt

This past month, although we struggled with the COVID-19 crisis in Egypt, we still managed to give several awareness lessons about how to protect from the virus. This was through face-to-face meetings at homes as well as through phone calls to some people.

On March 11th, a flood occurred, destroying the area and horribly affecting our centre. Many families lost their homes, their belongings, and their clothes. Sadly, 21 individuals died or went missing. After this, the COVID-19 crisis began and the situation worsened.

The team collected money and started partnerships with other organisations. We were able to provide 175 blankets, 100 boxes of food supplies, clothes for 100 families, and 350 water bottles. We’re thankful to offer help and hope, yet the need is still huge.

Thank you,
