Remembering and Honoring the Legacy of Hal Jones

Earlier this week my friend and colleague Hal Jones, the president and founder of Global Hope Network International suffered a major heart attack. His condition was critical and he passed away Tuesday. Our hearts are heavy and the entire GHNI family grieves the loss of this great man.

The legacy that he leaves should be an encouragement to all of us in this time of mourning. Hal spent his life loving and serving the poor and the least among us.  He was truly a visionary and man of conviction who inspired so many to take action and do right in the world. His love and passion infused everything he did. We live in a better place because of him.

We are grateful that Hal prepared Global Hope Network International to continue his vision beyond his lifetime. The greatest way to honor him is to continue bringing Help and Hope to the Hidden and Hurting. Hal’s mission to bring transformation into communities in need and peace in the world is more important than ever. We are dedicated to continuing this work that he loved. The board of directors of GHNI will be sharing more information about the transition in the coming days.

As a loving husband and father, family was incredibly important to Hal. We appreciate your thoughts, love, and prayers for them as they grieve this great loss. Hal is survived by Lana, his wife of 52 years, and by their 4 children and 16 grandchildren. Beyond that Hal was a father to many of us and others over the years. Thank you for standing with the Jones family, GHNI, and all those touched by Hal’s compassion and generosity.

The family has asked GHNI to help honor Hal’s life and work. For more information on public services and honoring Hal’s memory please visit here or email
