Seeds of Hope Shared Diversely

Women’s Empowerment Centre–East, Afghanistan

I recently visited the Women’s Empowerment Centre–East and was encouraged. Our local staff has distributed pens, notebooks, soap, and toothbrushes for the women and girls. Both the Birth Life-Saving Skills (BliSS) and English classes are going well; the women learn new skills regarding saving newborn lives, and the students are excited to learn English! The number of students will increase in the fall and winter because the school will be closed and the girls like to come to English class.

Meanwhile, we visited some kitchen gardens in which the farmers have planted vegetables from the seeds we gave them. They were so happy about their crops. Some of their favourites were the turnips and carrots. The vegetable seeds have helped many families in the Districts East of Bamyan.

Thank you!
