Stressing Positivity in Tough Times

RM Village*, Nepal

In July 2020, because of the threat of COVID-19, we could not gather in groups. Instead, we met key people and single-family members, which helped bring Transformational Community Development (TCD) lessons to the villagers during this time. After TCD started in this community, I have seen many positive changes. During the pandemic, many villagers have been stressed about how they will have enough to live on, but I have encouraged them not to worry about this pandemic, and instead to be strong mentally and physically so that we can make it through this difficult period.

We have continued to emphasise good hygiene during this time and, in order to relieve their suffering, we distributed rice, lentil salt, and oil to the people.

There are plans to continue our work and to make the village self-sustainable within two to three years. I have also visited a cluster village and shared information about the TCD movement and encouraged them to follow suit.

Thank you!
